Toronto Helicopter Tour

As a world traveler who has visited over 35 countries, Toronto remains my favorite city. There is no doubt that the city is filled with endless possibilities of things to see and do. It is also the most multicultural city in the world. You can feast on exotic fruits in Chinatown in the morning, sip on an afternoon espresso in Little Italy and end day with some salsa dancing. There are several ways to explore the city. You can venture out on foot, ride the subway, streetcars and buses, rent a bicycle or fly in a helicopter. Wait, what? Fly in a helicopter? You betcha!

Flying over Toronto in a helicopter is a great way to see the city and not have to worry about traffic. You’ll soar approximately 2000 feet above sea level, past the city’s tallest skyscrapers, CN Tower and waterfront on your choice of a 7 or 14-mile journey. You may even spot parts of Toronto you may have never seen before. The ride is fairly smooth and intimate as the helicopter only accommodates 4 people at a time including the pilot.

As someone who has never previously been in a helicopter before, my excitement brewed as I walked toward the tiny flying machine that had a propeller spinning at 1200 kilometers an hour. After fastening my seatbelt and putting my headset in place, the pilot announced that we were ready for take-off. Seconds later, we were hovering hundreds of feet over the cement ground below. Now, I have been in several airplanes that have flown over Toronto, but seeing the city from a helicopter was an experience like no other. It felt peaceful yet exhilarating.

My favorite part of the ride was soaring close to tip of the CN tower and seeing the Scarborough Bluffs from a bird’s eye view. Although the ride was only 15 minutes in length, it felt much longer as every second was spent admiring something new. I have spent several years throughout my life exploring Toronto bit by bit, but on that helicopter ride, I got to experience the entire city in just 15 minutes.

Whether you’re looking for a unique idea for a date or something new to experience on your own or with friends or family, a helicopter tour over Toronto should definitely be considered.
